Wearing a bonnet can take some getting used to at first. Because you can adjust it with the strings, you can decide how tight you wear it.

A common tip we give:

•⁠  ⁠Back sleepers prefer to tie the bonnet on their forehead.

•⁠  ⁠Stomach or side sleepers prefer to tie it at the nape of their neck.

On our Instagram, we have created a highlight called 'bonnet'. Here you can find a video on how the bonnet is most commonly worn.

If you notice that a bonnet still slips off frequently, we recommend combining it with a silk pillowcase. The two fabrics will then glide over each other, helping everything stay in place better.

Did you know that mulberry silk consists of natural protein fibers that can be damaged at temperatures as low as 40 degrees? This heat causes the fabric to lose its characteristic smoothness and shine, and the fibers weaken. To maintain the quality of your item, it's important to always use a mild detergent. Regular detergents often contain active enzymes that break down the natural proteins in silk.

Hand wash:

• Fill a basin with lukewarm water, no warmer than 30 degrees. Add your mild detergent and place your item in the water. Gently move your item through the water and let it soak for a maximum of 5 minutes.
• Rinse your item under lukewarm running water and gently press out excess water; do not wring.
• Lay a towel on the ground, place your item in it, and roll up the towel. Press the towel and then lay your item flat to dry, away from direct sunlight.

Washing machine:

• Use a laundry bag and select the silk program on your washing machine. Ensure the temperature is no higher than 30 degrees and keep the spin cycle low. Use a mild, enzyme-free detergent. For example, Seepje wool & fine.
• After washing, remove the items from the laundry bag and lay them flat to dry, away from direct sunlight.
